November 16–30 This solo exhibition will feature 20 new pieces showcasing Nicholas Bott’s dramatic take on west coast landscape. Bott studied art at UBC and holds a diploma from the Chicago School of Art. Inspired by Vincent Van Gogh and the Canadian Group of Seven, his paintings have evolved continuously into the post-impressionistic style of his current work. Bott distills landscape elements of the west coast and Rocky Mountains into powerful aesthetic compositions to communicate a sense of the sublime. Artist reception Nov 16, 1-4 p.m, 606 View St, 250-380-4660, www.madronagallery.com.
