It's clear that COP26 - inevitably? - has become co-opted by industry players of the 'polluter' class attempting - & even managing, tks to ridiculous Conflicts of Interest - to portray their undeniably catastrophic contributions to Climate Change as the opposite~!!? Meanwhile innovators making REAL progress - eg. advancing renewable-energy installations that achieve actual, significant emissions reductions - are left out of funding opportunities and/or ignored~!? (Why, cuz they've found ways to MAKE A REAL DIFF?) But: reality check [slaps herself] CANADA has the shaming distinction of being the WORST PERFORMER of all G7 countries, I.E. our Govt. leaders are FAILING HARD at Climate Action - they have NO BUSINESS creating fake coalitions like The Under2 which, if their stated goal is keeping global temp. rise to “well below 2 degrees C”, make a total mockery of Climate progress with their undeserving 'award' recipients~!? Sonia Furstenau's not the only one infuriated by our govts' inexcusable inadequacy on the global climate stage: in fact ALL Cdns should be appalled by our leaders' (federal & provincial) EMBARRASSING LACK OF CLIMATE LEADERSHIP, epitomized by their slave-like pandering to forestry/ fossil-fuel corps' disastrous projects (Coastal Gas Link / pellet-burning / Site-C / TMX) that science has shown wiLL EXACERBATE ECOCIDE/ WARMING EVENTS (I.E. MORE & WORSE FIRES & FLOODING!!) HOW is this acceptable? This APATHY cannot continue with any hope for positive outcomes. HOW can any Cdn be OK with knowing that between 1990 - 2019 Canada’s emissions grew by 21 percent—more than any other G7 country-- & yet "THERE APPEARS TO BE LITTLE PROSPECT OF AN IMPROVEMENT"!!??? Really? It's pretty clear such grim pessimism is our only "prospect" due to established political dinosaurs' chokehold on Cdns' ROBOTIC (surprisingly ignorant) voting habits. We need to wake out of our pathetic devotion to obsolete colonial politicos that have LOST their relevance -- with the PM himself proving a weak-minded, toxic puppet of corporate avarice who's all but abandoned any democratic ideals, having failed to form the hoped-for majority to pacify his ego.. The ONLY viable (much-needed) alternative is our talented & trustworthy Greens, who've been unfairly vilified by conservative/ establishment/ ultra-rich for obvious reasons (reluctance to relinquish their heavy-footprint, lavish lifestyles that rely on ever-flogged - unsustainable - Growth Economics & unlimited industrial pollution: NOT AN OPTION!) To me it's clear the Greens have what it takes to revive Canada's PROSPECTS FOR IMPROVEMENT - proof of which is outlined in their impressive Constitution, a document that respects Cdns of aLL persuasions & - most importantly - GROUNDED, SCIENCE-INFORMED METHODOLOGY as its climate-solving basis, & well-thought strategies to ensure widespread prosperity (with Nature's revival & renewable systems overriding priorities) to steer this ship in a successful, livable direction for thriving future generations. The 'Big 3' leaders of the corrupt establishment have botched our prospects by stubbornly insisting on an unchanged status quo when CHANGES were never more desperately needed: Time for the deserving Greens to prove their worth - starting with eliminating O&G lobbyists from Govt. offices & bringing back experts/ scientists with backgrounds of integrity. Anything else sends Canada sliding backward into a degraded future of unlivable proportions with corrupted politicians undermining their own credibility by constantly claiming otherwise (we can't live like that - LIED TO - any longer! Cdns aren't chumps, we care about the legacy we're leaving to future generations & we WON'T be condemned to uselessness while Govts. run roughshod over our Climate aspirations!!)
