  1. I live on the north side of Langford Lake, surrounded by Garry Oaks and camas. I keep on top of the invasives-broom, daphne, and brambles, to name a few. It's heaven on earth and I am fully aware of how lucky I am to live in a red-listed paradise. I've been told, by those who would know, that a local developer is waiting for me to die so s/he can buy my property cheap, consolidate it with previously-acquired properties, blast it down to the bedrock, and turn it into apartment blocks. Sickening. I try not to think about it. I can't fathom why Langford hasn't put this area onto a priority list for parkland. If we really were the "Best Community in Canada" we would preserve a teensy weensy bit of what made Greater Victoria beautiful in the first place.
