I had the pleasure of working with Gerald Harris and his Bowker Creek team for several years. It was exciting to see the results of native plant restoration and was inspired to start a Garry oak meadow restoration project in my own neighbourhood. I hope to see salmon return to Bowker Creek in my lifetime. Keep up the good work Gerald!
More glass equals more bird fatalities

The UBC bookstore is a wonderful and creative example that reduces the effect of glass on birds. Something similar could have been proposed for the glass-covered Telus Ocean, which is currently more 'iceberg' than 'ocean'. The City of Victoria missed a golden opportunity to request a design modification for the protection of our wild birds.
