Victoria’s “ACAB” controversy—the copyright twist
Grizz commented on Hugh Stephens's comment in Informed Comment
"...the alteration of a work in good faith to preserve its intended meaning or nature is not considered an infringement of moral rights under Canadian copyright law." Since this work was meant as a symbol of peace and inclusivity, the alteration of said ACAB would in fact bring the art to a greater representation of the intended meaning of the whole project. The artist in actuality is the one who broke away from the intended nature and meaning of the project, and even more so in their edit.
