The Avenue Gallery – Feature Artist – Geoff Searle

Geoff Searle has been a potter and artist since 1972, working primarily in clay. His practice includes sculpture, raku, and pit firing, all produced in his studio located in the rural Fraser Valley of British Columbia.

Born and raised in Kimberley in the interior of BC, Geoff studied at the Kootenay School of Art in Nelson. He has lived in several communities across the province before eventually settling on the West Coast. Often described as being almost as intriguing as the man himself, his work reflects a nonconformist spirit driven by creativity and natural curiosity. This approach has led to innovative and compelling pieces that place him at the forefront of contemporary clay work.
