Sasha Luchkov, a talented young pianist from Ukraine, will be featured in recital at St. Dunstan’s Anglican Church, 1806 San Juan Ave. in Gordon Head, June 8, 7pm. Currently studying at UBC with David Fung, Sasha performed here last year to much acclaim. Program includes works by Mendelssohn, Beethoven, and Debussy. Admission is by donation. All monies raised will support his education costs in Canada.
Teachers and mentors of Sasha are organizing recitals here in Victoria and Duncan in support of his considerable talent, noting the difficult political climate facing those youth in Ukraine wishing to pursue careers in the arts.
