Multi-Grammy award-winning artists Robert “Sput” Searight and Nate Werth take percussion out of the shadows and into the spotlight with Ghost-Note. World renown for their ongoing catalog with international sensation Snarky Puppy, this dynamic duo expands their rhythmical voice into a celebration of music in all its forms. This is music that takes listeners on a mind-blowing journey, inspired by the influences of James Brown, Prince, and J Dilla to name a few. Since forming, Ghost-Note’s sound has evolved to a state that can best be described as ‘conscious funk’ – an elaborate and sonically powerful surge of the tremendous talents that each of the players provides, with the bandleaders leaning back and letting the band go. The core lineup is a rotating cast of heavy hitters, (including former Prince bassist, Dywane “MonoNeon” Thomas) – all stretching to meet the expanding nature of the band. Ghost-Note’s bold and in-your-face performances create seductive danceable grooves and a contagious, feel-good energy, as each show offers a chance to let loose and connect for both fans and the musicians alike.
One half of the LA duo KNOWER and collaborator with Thundercat, Vulfpeck, and Snarky Puppy, future-sonic-funk drummer and keyboardist Louis Cole is a singer-songwriter and Grammy-winning producer known today as one of the world’s most celebrated musicians. Cole’s sound is a seemingly simple and totally addictive mix of electro-funk missiles shot clearly on refrains and steamy nostalgic strolls.
With a mission “to create deep feelings through music” his comedic YouTube videos aren’t far from the real thing. Viral video favourites like “F It Up” mirror his live big band show experience, featuring LA’s best instrumentalists seen creating hot funk whilst crammed into his modest living room. Louis Cole’s 12-member Big Band follows in similar fashion: weird, wild, and wonderful. This will be a night to remember. Rai Thistlethwayte keyboards, Petter Olofsson bass, Shai Golan saxophone, Doug Mosher saxophone, Henry Solomon saxophone, Zach Ramacier trumpet, Rob Sheppard flute, Vikram Devasthali trombone, Jon Hatamiya trombone, Genevieve Artadi bvox, Isis Giraldo bvox
