“Whereas many of his contemporaries may have fallen by the wayside, the iconic blues-rock guitarist refuses to hop off what is (and continues to be) an extraordinary ride.” – Blues Rock Review
Prolific American blues-rock guitarist and singer-songwriter Walter Trout started as a sideman for John Lee Hooker, Percy Mayfield, and Big Mama Thornton. He went on to become the lead guitarist for Canned Heat, and then for John Mayall’s Bluesbreakers, before forming the Walter Trout Band, Walter Trout and the Radicals, and then simply Walter Trout. After a liver transplant in 2013, he was named “the ultimate, supreme bluesman of the 20th and 21st centuries” by Metal Zone magazine. His 2019 album, Survivor Blues, debuted number one on the Billboard Blues Chart for two consecutive weeks. His 2022 album, Ride, is a stunning collection of charging momentum and modern energy, and his latest album, Broken, was released in 2024. With an extensive discography, multiple Blues Music Awards, and British Blues Awards, Walter Trout is the beating heart of the modern blues rock scene.
Now, just in time for his return to Victoria, Trout releases his hard-rocking new album Sign Of The Times on September 5. Last playing McPherson Playhouse in 2023, he now brings one of toughest-sounding records in his catalogue to Wicket Hall. Be among the first to witness this fresh material live and buy tickets today!

“[Warren Wolf and his band] combine star power and individuality, and thus have all the attributes of a supergroup.” – Audiophile Audition
Mack Avenue recording artist, vibraphonist, and multi-instrumentalist Warren Wolf is the premiere jazz vibraphonist on the scene today. He has trained on the vibraphone/marimba, drums, and piano since he was three years old, and hasn’t stopped since. A graduate turned instructor in the percussion department at Berklee College of Music, Wolf quickly became an active and sought-after performer around the Boston area. Wolf remains the drummer of choice for alto saxophonist Tia Fuller, as well as a member of the Bobby Watson’s Live and Learn Sextet, Christian McBride & Inside Straight, and the SFJAZZ Collective. His first two records are titled Incredible Jazz Vibes and Black Wolf, and he has also self-produced a CD titled RAW. He has released four Mack Avenue Records, and his latest record, Life, was released this year to mass acclaim. Wolf has performed with The Jazz at Lincoln Center Orchestra with Wynton Marsalis, Jeremy Pelt and Creation, Stefon Harris, Curtis Lundy, Ron Carter, Robert Glasper, Esperanza Spalding and many others.
Joining Wolf is the stellar Sullivan Fortner Trio, featuring Fortner on piano, Tyrone Allen on bass, and Kayvon Gordon on drums. Fortner—one of the most celebrated pianists of his generation—is known for his expressive playing and profound musical depth, heard in collaborations with Cecile McLorin Salvant, Dee Dee Bridgewater, and others. Together, this ensemble promises an unforgettable evening of modern jazz interplay, stylistic exploration, and pure musical joy. Don’t miss this special land-based matinee concert at McPherson Playhouse. This all-star ensemble is part of the “Journey of Jazz“ Signature Jazz Cruise, which will be docked in Victoria that Saturday, September 13!
