“With only his steel-string-acoustic guitar – and sometimes his rich, affecting voice – Bensusan can disassemble your heart and hand it back to you restored and renewed. A true giant.” – Guitar Player Magazine
Blending traditional, contemporary, jazz, classical, and pop music with world music, ), French-Algerian guitarist/vocalist/composer Pierre Bensusan’s originality and style makes him one of today’s greatest guitarists. He was elected “Best Guitarist of World Music” by the readers of Guitar Player Magazine, and his triple album Encore won the Grand Prix of the Independent Music Awards in the category “Best Live Album.” Guitarists such as Leo Kottke, Larry Corryel, Tuck Andress, Tommy Emmanuel, Mark Knopfler, Julian Lage, Andrew York, Andy Timmons, and Steve Lukather have sung his praises, and Steve Vai released three Bensusan albums on his label Favored Nations. It’s not just guitarists who are inspired by Bensusan’s music, as a recent studio collaboration on Donny Osmond’s latest album Start Again demonstrates. Since his first performances in 1974 in France, the guitarist has sold half a million albums and given thousands of concerts around the globe, both solo and through numerous collaborations. Celebrating the 50th anniversary of his career, Victoria welcomes him back in a solo performance, after his last appearance in 1990, to TD JazzFest 2025!

“Lyrical melodies, hard-hitting polyrhythms, EST/Tigran-style progressive grooves and no shortage of Aussie humour…” – Jazzwise
Giving up the dream of competing in the World Surf League, Brekky Boy decided to take a crack at jazz, creating an unpredictable live show that infuses electronica, beat music, jazz improvisation and chucking things at band members when they’re trying to solo. The Montreux Jazz Award nominee has since gone on to support Snarky Puppy, Ambrose Akinmusire, Theo Croker and has gained international acclaim touring the world performing at SXSW, Montréal International Jazz Festival, Montreux Jazz Festival, London Jazz Festival, Jazzahead and more. Living on the South Coast of NSW, Australia, Brekky Boy has remained fully independent, amassing millions of views on TikTok and Instagram—primarily for terrible renditions of popular songs. They last appeared at TD JazzFest 2023 – don’t miss their return for the 2025 festival!
