Experience the timeless beauty of Thornton Wilder’s Our Town, a Pulitzer Prize-winning classic that captures the beauty and fragility of everyday life. Set in the small town of Grover’s Corners, the play follows the lives of its residents—ordinary people experiencing love, loss and the passage of time. Guided by the omniscient Stage Manager, audiences witness the joys and sorrows of the Gibbs and Webb families as they navigate childhood, marriage and mortality. Our Town is a poignant, heartwarming and deeply moving exploration of human awareness and the often-overlooked beauty of everyday moments.
“Do any human beings ever realize life while they live it?—every, every minute?” —Emily Webb
“While all of Wilder’s work is intelligent, non-synthetic and often moving, as well as funny, it is Our Town that makes the difference. It is probably the finest play ever written by an American.” —American playwright Edward Albee.
Awards:
1938 Pulitzer Prize for Drama
1989 Tony Award for Best Revival
1989 Drama Desk Award for Outstanding Revival
Presented by arrangement with Concord Theatricals on behalf of Samuel French Inc.

Three Victoria artists present Writ Large - Contemporary Works on Paper
Three Victoria artists draw on their pasts as professional writers and editors to exhibit a collection of large-format works inspired by the emotional and intellectual energy of written language.
Georgina Montgomery, Louise Oborne, and MaryLou Wakefield use words and text as part of their visual language to amplify a compelling idea, question, or life experience personally meaningful to them.
In this series, the artists demonstrate their individual stylistic approaches to interpreting 'Writ Large' and invite viewers to find their own meaning and interpretation in the works.
Writ Large will be on at arc.hive artist run centre October 4 - 19 and open for viewing Saturdays and Sundays from 12 - 4 pm.
An opening reception with the artists in attendance will be on Friday, October 3, from 7 - 9 pm.
