   Three Victoria artists present Writ Large - Contemporary Works on Paper
   
   Three Victoria artists draw on their pasts as professional writers and editors to exhibit a collection of large-format works inspired by the emotional and intellectual energy of written language.
   Georgina Montgomery, Louise Oborne, and MaryLou Wakefield use words and text as part of their visual language to amplify a compelling idea, question, or life experience personally meaningful to them.
   In this series, the artists demonstrate their individual stylistic approaches to interpreting 'Writ Large' and invite viewers to find their own meaning and interpretation in the works.
   Writ Large will be on at arc.hive artist run centre October 4 - 19 and open for viewing Saturdays and Sundays from 12 - 4 pm.
   An opening reception with the artists in attendance will be on Friday, October 3, from 7 - 9 pm.

   Let the Genie of the lamp take you on a magic ballet ride filled with exotic costumes enchanting music, in a most extraordinary adventure. Classical ballet with a contemporary flair, beauty, drama, a little humour and brilliant dancing. Set to a fantastic score including works by Borodin, Saint-Saens, Rimsky-Korsakov and more, this high-octane ballet showcases the BV dancers’ technical bravura and exotic style.
   Performances are held at the Royal Theatre (805 Broughton Street) on October 3rd at 7:30 pm and October 4th at 2:00 pm
