Spend a week learning the skills of playing improvised music in a small ensemble, building fundamentals, musicianship, and friendships. Find your original voice and work with our excellent faculty of professional musicians and jazz educators including John Lee, Joe Hatherill, Kim Greenwood, Louis Rudner, Dave Flello, and Ashley Wey, plus many more. Special masterclasses will be offered with presenters featured in our evening concert series.
The camp is designed to help students of all ages and skill levels gain instrumental/vocal experience in an environment of Encouragement and Fun. Students of ALL instruments can apply, particularly Vocalists, Saxophone, Flute, Clarinet, Trombone, Trumpet, Piano and Keyboards, Strings, Guitar, Bass (electric and/or acoustic) and Drums. The goal of the camp is to give students the opportunity to make music together in small and large ensembles and improve their musical skills, including improvising and jamming with others.
Taking place at Selkirk Montessori School near the beautiful Selkirk Waterfront, the week offers a memorable experience of musicianship and camaraderie. Classes are also offered in theory, arranging, song writing, chording, vocalizing, historical perspectives, technology, and many special areas of interest. A special program for vocalists plus masterclasses, performances, jam sessions, and more. Play or sing in a band, meet other musicians, make music, and generally have fun - the evening concert series includes a nightly jam session with the pros!

This event provides a rich visual experience covering a wide range of photographic genres combined with two and three-dimensional metal art. Award winning photographic art on canvas and paper ranges from abstract pieces to wildlife, land and cityscapes; to flowers and to horses running free. Two artists, Rick Shapka and Leah Gray are CAPA certified judges and Steve Smith has judged Canadian and international competitions. Leah Gray and Steve Smith are currently teaching a program of photography courses at the Mctavish Academy of Art in North Saanich. Mike Wooding is a well known Nature photographer. John Bukovec produces free standing metal sculptures of birds where every feather is individually crafted. His metal silhouettes provide another body of imaginative and creative work.
Take some time to connect with beauty, imagination, creativity, and skill by visiting our venue (one week only).
