Africa Fest is an annual FREE outdoor community event that celebrates Africa’s diverse cultures through live music performance, drum & dance, arts & crafts, African food, and workshops. African Cultural week & Africa Fest occur annually around May 25th. On May 25, 1963, African leaders convened a summit meeting to found the Organization of African Unity (OAU) in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. The OAU was created to help bring about change, freedom, and independence to many African countries. May, 25 was declared and renamed Africa Freedom Day as “African
Liberation Day". Each year on May 25 Africans around the globe celebrate Africa Day. The day commemorates the founding of the first union of African countries in 1963
    .
Africa Day is intended to celebrate and acknowledge African solidarity, unity in diversity, creativity, challenges, and successes. JOIN US and learn a little bit more about our Mother Land #vicafricafest, #issambacentre, #issambaforever, Email us: info@issambcentre.ca
