"What does it mean to make oneself visible and take up space? My whole life I seem to have been aiming for the opposite, keeping my head down and trying not to draw attention. It is a narrative woven through the generations of my family history of migration from China to South Africa to Canada. “In Visible Lines” is informed by these stories of movement and displacement."
