Presenting Kimberly Kiel’s sixth solo exhibition at The Avenue Gallery, Here & Now, from September 25 to October 9. In this series, Kiel showcases her signature use of impasto and confident use of colour, with bold florals, expressive figures and powerful treescapes.
"I paint as an expression of joy and energy. There's pure delight in squeezing out generous piles of oil paint, squishing it around, letting it blend, meld, and combine. Wet paint, layered again and again, morphs into a tangible and compelling surface — thick, creamy, and rich with gorgeous impasto marks. I aim to leave much to the imagination, inviting the viewer to fill in the blanks.
