Born on the coast of British Columbia, Corre Alice creates paintings that explore the balance between emotional expression and intellectual structure. Her work is intuitive and deeply personal, shaped by a commitment to both spontaneity and form.
I paint freely but with formal restraints, respecting the integrity of structure in order to create tension. I aim to communicate a familiar sensation by channeling expression through a system. I paint impulsively, always aware of the logical. When I paint flowers, it’s with a light heart and a sense of gratitude for this world we live in. - Corre Alice
