   The Avenue Gallery is thrilled to receive breathtaking, new gems from Bayot Heer, whose elegant, timeless jewellery designs are imbued with a European sensibility. Bayot considers working with precious metals and gemstones a rare privilege that comes with the responsibility to honour these materials with lasting designs. In this context, he is often reminded of the Italian inspired slow food movement – being mindful of earth's resources we are trusted with. Bayot strives to live up to this quote by Piet Hein; "true design asks one thing of us: to uncover what it covers."

   Three Victoria artists present Writ Large - Contemporary Works on Paper
   
   Three Victoria artists draw on their pasts as professional writers and editors to exhibit a collection of large-format works inspired by the emotional and intellectual energy of written language.
   Georgina Montgomery, Louise Oborne, and MaryLou Wakefield use words and text as part of their visual language to amplify a compelling idea, question, or life experience personally meaningful to them.
   In this series, the artists demonstrate their individual stylistic approaches to interpreting 'Writ Large' and invite viewers to find their own meaning and interpretation in the works.
   Writ Large will be on at arc.hive artist run centre October 4 - 19 and open for viewing Saturdays and Sundays from 12 - 4 pm.
   An opening reception with the artists in attendance will be on Friday, October 3, from 7 - 9 pm.
