Three Victoria artists present Writ Large - Contemporary Works on Paper

Three Victoria artists draw on their pasts as professional writers and editors to exhibit a collection of large-format works inspired by the emotional and intellectual energy of written language.
Georgina Montgomery, Louise Oborne, and MaryLou Wakefield use words and text as part of their visual language to amplify a compelling idea, question, or life experience personally meaningful to them.
In this series, the artists demonstrate their individual stylistic approaches to interpreting 'Writ Large' and invite viewers to find their own meaning and interpretation in the works.
Writ Large will be on at arc.hive artist run centre October 4 - 19 and open for viewing Saturdays and Sundays from 12 - 4 pm.
An opening reception with the artists in attendance will be on Friday, October 3, from 7 - 9 pm.
For more information about the artists and the exhibition, visit www.writ-large.art

The AGGV welcomes you to Family Sunday this April!
Get creative by exploring artmaking in black and white. Inspired by the exhibitions, Fifty Shades of Ink: Ink Paintings from the AGGV Collections, Dangerous Beauty: The Prints of Albrecht Dürer, and our Permanent Collection Galleries, A View from Here: Reimagining the AGGV Collections, create Chinese ink paintings with guest artist, Andy Lou, make wearable buttons inspired by Albrecht Dürer, and create a unique collage focused on shape, line, and texture inspired by Victoria-artist Michael Morris. Families can learn more about the artists and artworks while enjoying guided family tours designed especially for the event. Family Sunday is a fun-filled day for everyone.

Family Sunday happens once a month from October – June, and is an afternoon of exploring hands-on art making and ideas for all ages. This recurring program often features special guests such as storytellers, artists, performers or musicians!

    Admission is always free for:
