In Sight Festival is the result of a unique collaboration between the Arts and Culture Colwood Society and Fort Rodd Hill NHS, Parks Canada. As partners in this endeavour, they appreciate the interconnections between the arts, culture, nature, and historical awareness in building strong community bonds. Expanding on last year's inaugural success, Arts and Culture Colwood president, Laura Davis has bravely augmented this year's cultural offerings with more diverse music and an expanded program. Thanks to Parks Canada, the park admission fees have been waived, which makes it a truly affordable event for everyone and a refreshing approach to bringing the community together.

Tender Touch delves into Victoria’s unique and proliferating tattoo community. In recent years, the tattoo industry in Victoria has grown considerably, with more and more queer and BIPOC artists beginning their career and opening up their own tattoo shops in town. Alternatives to the traditional western tattoo scene, these spaces are bastions for many seeking to adorn themselves with ink.

The exhibition will invite several contemporary tattoo artists in Victoria to show their work and explain their connection to tattooing as an art practice. The exhibition will explore tattooing as a source of bodily autonomy and a practice that requires a sense of trust between tattoo artist and tattoo receiver. Artists participating in this show are Brianna Chatwin, Simran Dhaliwal, Mason Larose, Kaman Lu, Mina Malahah Raposo, Stephanie Papik, and Grae Salisbury.

    Exhibition runs November 25, 2023 - May 5, 2024

We are excited to return to the Dave Dunnet Theatre for our Spring Concert: Where We Belong – a celebration of community and relationship in song. SingYourJoy is in its 13th year of bringing great musical experiences to our audiences, and connection and belonging for our singers.
SingYourJoy is a non-auditioned family of choirs serving Greater Victoria. We believe that everyone can sing and we strive to remove all barriers to participation.  Children, youth and young adults experience the joy of learning new skills, building friendships and growing community as they make magical music together.

This group is a barrier-free organization – there are no fees and anyone ages 16-29 is welcome to join. Our members may be new to the city, starting new careers, entering a new field of study, or just determining who they are. SingYourJoy offers the unique opportunity of a safe space for creative expression, learning new skills, and forming new friendships.

    Charting Change
    April 5 to 21, 2024

Charting Change, emerging from the lived experience of a near drowning, is a visual analogy of the increasingly turbulent time in which we live. The watery images are blurred between abstract and representational; either deeply under water or adrift on the surface. Each piece has its own narrative, raises its own questions—and inspires contemplation on the future of our oceans.

Charting Change is an exhibition of recent works by Kathi Thompson. Soundscape by Sharon Wiener. Video montage by Grace Salez.

    Opening night:
    Friday, April 5, 2024, 7 p.m. to 9 p.m.
    Artist Talk:
    Sunday, April 14, 2024, 2 p.m. to 3 p.m.
    Gallery hours:
Continues every weekend from Saturday, April 6 until Sunday, April 21 from 11 a.m. to 4 p.m.
