“Having been together for a number of years, you can easily hear the familiarity the members…and you can also pick up the stylistic influences of jazz, pop and more. It doesn’t so much swing as drive, and there is no question this is a trio who can light up a venue on stage.” – The Vancouver Sun

Vancouver-based Malleus Trio is an exciting instrumental band that seamlessly weaves together high-octane improvisation with original compositions executed by a musical rapport forged over more than a decade. Sought-after players in their own right, the members of Malleus Trio remain active in various bands from distinctly different genres (Boom Booms, Pugs and Crows, and Coco Jafro). This palpable chemistry pulses through a music that is unconventional yet accessible. They released their acclaimed debut album in 2017, and their follow up record, Play Nice, is a collection of songs that showcase their exemplary skills and remarkable scope. The trio will celebrate the release of the album at many summer jazz festivals, including TD JazzFest 2023. With this new record in hand, Malleus Trio map new terrain for open-minded ears. Ben Brown drums, Dominic Conway saxophone, Geordie Hart bass

She is garnering international attention with her creative collaborations, and her latest release Higher is the second in a tetralogy featuring earth, air, fire and water themes. It is a shining example of afro-futuristic styling, and showcases a new genre called "high soul,” mixing R&B, soul, hip hop and jazz. Tirolien’s electrifying performance on “I’m Not The One” (1.9M+ YouTube views) is a prime track on the Grammy-winning album by Snarky Puppy, inspiring countless covers worldwide. Tirolien’s love, passion, and respect for music can be felt in each song, as well as her sparkling authenticity. She returned to TD JazzFest 2023 with her band: Caulder Nash keyboards, Philippe L'Allier guitar, Jean-Michel Frédéric synthesizer/bass, and Harvey Bien-Aimée drums.
