With influences from cult classics like Priscilla Queen of the Desert to Broadway favorites like Guys and Dolls to imaginative roller coasters like their original Cheesecakes In Space, these girls know how to put on the modern day show-stopper! The Cheesecakes are known for their high-energy acts, standout performers, comedic timing, steamy seductiveness and girl-next-door accessibility.

    On May 25th and 26th, 2019, come discover some of South Vancouver Island’s finest artists during the 2019 Hills to Shore studio tour. 15 emerging and well established artists from Gordon Head, Cadboro Bay and Mt Tolmie will be displaying their work in their studios, homes and gardens. This year, Hills to Shore will showcase fibre and fabric artists, jewelers, painters, photographers, potters and sculptors.  This is the perfect opportunity to find something special for yourself or your loved ones!
    The self-guided tour will take place on May 25th and 26th, 2019, from 11 am to 4 pm, rain or shine. Free admission. Maps, brochures and further information is available on at  https://hillstoshoreartists.ca/ as well as at many local merchants in Cadboro Bay, Gordon Head and Mt. Tolmie areas.

    Baroque from Bach to Vivaldi
    The Victoria Mendelssohn Choir directed by Maestro Simon Leung presents “Baroque from Bach to Vivaldi” with guests, Die Mahler String Quartet.  Two performances only:
    Saturday, May 25 @ 3:00 pm, Church of St. John the Divine, 1611 Quadra Street, Victoria  
    Sunday, May 26 @ 3:00 pm, The S.H.O.A.L Centre, 10030 Resthaven Drive, Sidney  
    Tickets: $20 each available from Russell Books in Victoria; Ivy’s Bookshop in Oak Bay; Tanner’s Books and S.H.O.A.L Centre in Sidney, and at the door.
    Program includes:
    J.S. Bach: Cantata No. 4, "Christ lag in Todes Banden" (Christ lay in death’s bonds)
    G.F. Handel: Selections from oratorios "Samson", "Solomon" and "Acis & Galatea"
    A. Vivaldi: “Magnificat”
    Die Mahler String Quartet will accompany the choir and play additional selections on their own.
