The two-artist exhibit “MurMur” intends to make visible the intangible, the physical representation of our heartbeats, breath and even the presence of our souls on our loved ones. Julianna Joos is a Canadian professional artist who lives and works in Montréal; she has been a practising printmaker and textile artist for forty years. She has completed a Maîtrise ès arts (M.F.A.) from Université du Québec à Montréal (1996). She teaches printmaking, drawing and digital art at Dawson College in Montréal. She has won three major international prizes: 7th Triennial of Textile Arts, SZOMBATHELY, Hungary (2021); Premio Consorzio Brachetto d’Acqui: VIIème Biennale Internazionale dell’Incisione, ACQUI TERME, Italy (2005); First Prize Voir Grand, Biennale d’estampe grand format de l’Atelier Circulaire, MONTRÉAL, Canada (2002). Wendy Duffield completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, and studied jewellery making and silversmithing in Australia where she lived for over 25 years. Using all manner of old treasures such as needlework, photos & stamps, furniture hardware to tableware, objects get a second lease of life as unique jewellery, collage and sculpture. She conducts art classes for children and adults at Magnolia Art studio in North Saanich, British Columbia, Canada. Opening Reception Saturday September 3, 2022 at 1 pm PST truthgymgallery.com

Virtual Opening Reception – 9t April at 1 pm PST Free to register at: https://www.eventbrite.ca/e/virginia-eichhorn-truth-and-lies-virtual-opening-tickets-288708223067 This exhibition makes us understand the power of the mind and its projection on our societal roles in a simple statement “strong body, strong mind’. The conceptual works stand beyond our preconceptions about strengthening our bodies to achieve a look. Strengthening our bodies becomes more of a process of understanding the control of our thoughts and behaviour in society. It is not a criticism of people who avoid exercising. Instead, it is motivation to realise that an active lifestyle and routine help us understand that we are part of society. One’s physical, mental and spiritual strengthening contributes to our health as individuals and collectively as a society. Curated by Virginia Eichhorn in collaboration with Rob Waldeck.
