  1. This article was written January 2020 and in the midst of Covid Pandemic I have shared this article and have had many responses I am also a resident of Langford for 16 years.I also lived in Langfrod in the 80's. We have been dealing with Langford Council since 2019 when our nightmare of Development Proposal started for 2 properties on Miillstream Road. Everything that is written in the article we have experienced thru dealing with an agent for developer who disregards our concerns. She is also an appointed member by Langford Council to the Variance Committe. She works for several developers. Planning Committe who pass everthing to Council without variances and who are in fact appointed by counci. Council received these proposals. !st reading of amended bylaw is done Public not allowed to submit informtion till Public hearing date . Council passed 1 to 3 readiings for 17 amendment to bylaws proposals in 3 minutes and 26 seconds Our concerns are not dealt with or even investigated even though Council members on Planning Commitee have 2 Councillors on it Bylaws are amended so Zonings can be changed for development disregarding Taxpaying citizens of surrounding single famly homes The photos below are concerning the MIllstream Proposal that could have their Public Hearng as soon as September 7 There are severla other Development proposals at different levels of Rezoning at Planning and Council stages. The first photo is the proposed development for Millstream Rd . Millstream is a narrow Street. Marlisa Place is a cul de sac with no sidewalks Those trees will all be removed before building commences Parking is always full on Millstream and surrounding streets with residential owners parking . Proposal for 113 units with only 113 cars stalls being considered . This proposed property does not fit Neighbourhood Designation which Langford Council amended their own bylaw back to Neighbourhood Designation.from City Center but still have had 1st reading on proposal The building is 66 feet high and will affect adjacent neighours sunlight 58% less and no sun in the winter. Their homes will be devalued due to concret wall facing them and parking lot close to their fences with a 6 foot tall fenceseperating it . That won;t help noise and gas fumes. Below are the homes on the right that will be adjacent to this huge development Times Colnist today published a Developers and City plans bit no Citizens letters Thank you Lori Ann Locken
