    Gage Gallery presents an exhibition of twenty portraits, twenty stories and one year of painting. Many of the heroes are local Victoria healthcare workers. Come to the gallery during the show and enter into a draw to win a FREE PORTRAIT by the artist Shannon Holms. Let us know who your hero is and why. Is it your mother, your brother or your neighbour?     Join us for a festive opening celebration with wine and refreshments. Covid protocols apply. The exhibition, REFUGE offers a peaceful sanctuary separate from the urgency of the outside world. The seven artists (llka Bauer, Leslie Bell, Elizabeth Carefoot, Anna B Grant, Gabriela Hirt, MJ Hughes and Jane Michiel) work across media and through different techniques to create art that together speaks to our human need for refuge.     As the pandemic recedes, the artist explores her renewed appreciation for simple, quiet pleasures in this new series of figurative abstract paintings. A limited palette varies from work to work, with white paint and cold wax providing unity. Expect the unexpected in this slightly unhinged and somewhat hilarious show in which fish wear raincoats, sailboats fly across the starry night sky and driftwood giants want to shake your hand. Bring your cameras and your sense of humor to this fun and free art-experience, accessible to all ages and walks of life. Prices will range from $30 and up for original artworks.
