    The two-artist exhibit “MurMur” intends to make visible the intangible, the physical representation of our heartbeats, breath and even the presence of our souls on our loved ones.
    Julianna Joos is a Canadian professional artist who lives and works in Montréal; she has been a practising printmaker and textile artist for forty years. She has completed a Maîtrise ès arts (M.F.A.) from Université du Québec à Montréal (1996).   She teaches printmaking, drawing and digital art at Dawson College in Montréal. She has won three major international prizes: 7th Triennial of Textile Arts, SZOMBATHELY, Hungary (2021); Premio Consorzio Brachetto d’Acqui: VIIème Biennale Internazionale dell’Incisione, ACQUI TERME, Italy (2005); First Prize Voir Grand, Biennale d’estampe grand format de l’Atelier Circulaire, MONTRÉAL, Canada (2002).
    Wendy Duffield completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts at the University of Alberta, and studied jewellery making and silversmithing in Australia where she lived for over 25 years.  Using all manner of old treasures such as needlework, photos & stamps, furniture hardware to tableware, objects get a second lease of life as unique jewellery, collage and sculpture. She conducts art classes for children and adults at Magnolia Art studio in North Saanich, British Columbia, Canada.

    The Bateman Foundation is offering free admission to children and teens in celebration of the new heartwarming exhibition, Robert Bateman: Heart & Home, this summer from July to August 31st.

    Children and youth under 18 years old will have free admission or admission by donation to see the current exhibitions in the Bateman Gallery, including Robert Bateman: Heart & Home and the permanent exhibition The World of Robert Bateman.

    Visitors are also able to access free nature-themed art activities available in the Roost which includes colouring, origami, word search and drawing wildlife.
