UVic Voice Ensemble: Music and Majesty

Event details

The UVic Voice Ensemble explores music composed by historical members of the English Royal Family from Richard the Lionheart to Albert, Prince Consort. The program, along with presenter Kieran Foss, seeks to discover the humanity left behind in the works of art, and appreciate these historical figures as people rather than institutional symbols. The music, spanning approximately 850 years, switches from troubadour songs to choral mass settings to German lieder, providing an evening of tremendous variety with something for everyone.
