When Raven Became Spider

New kinds of superheroes are making their way into the gallery this winter! Coming to Open Space after a critically-acclaimed nation-wide tour, When Raven Became Spiderbrings together work from six Indigenous artists who transpose supernatural beings from Indigenous stories into the realm of superhero comics. Curated by Leena Minifie, the show features work from Joi T. Arcand, Sonny Assu, Shaun Beyale, Julianne Beaudin-Herney, Elle-Máijá Tailfeathers, and Jeffery Veregge.

When Raven Became Spider was first shown at the Dunlop Art Gallery, Regina Public Library. The Open Space iteration of the exhibition, running from January 10-February 8, will feature new works by island-based artist Sonny Assu.
