Joanne Hewko: Water Under the bridge
November 15–December 1
Attracted to the bridge over the reversing falls at Tillicum Narrows, Joanne Hewko spent time making observations and collecting images. As a place for self-reflection, the bridge and the changing flow of water became metaphors for transitions in her life, shifting relationships and the passage of time. A graduate from Vancouver Island School of Art with a degree in Interior Design, Hewko focuses on mark-making and personal expression, emphasizing mood and gesture. Reception, Fri, Nov 15, 7-9pm; Sat, Sun, 11am-4pm. 2333 Government St, 250-382-0442, www.xchangesgallery.org.
