VICTORIA SUMMER MUSIC FESTIVAL
CELEBRATING THE FESTIVAL’S 22ND SEASON
Six stellar concerts promise a tweny-second season of midsummer delight!
The venture began in 1996 to fill the void left when the Victoria International Festival ended. Annually, at midsummer, we enrich the cultural life of British Columbia, with distinctive, high-calibre, evening chamber music concerts – 112 in 21 years often to sold-out houses.
The Victoria Summer Music Festival Society’s mandate is “to encourage and further interest in and appreciation of classical music in Victoria through the presentation of public concerts.”
Offering audiences and performers a musical experience that feeds sublime human needs is a core value. Performers are chosen not only for their purely musical strengths but also for their ability to communicate with each other and the audience.
Concerts take place at Phillip T. Young Recital Hall at University of Victoria.
